Description

This fudge apple upside down cake recipe is made in a similar fashion to pineapple upside down cake.
The addition of fudge creates a more intense flavor the whole family will enjoy.
 

Ingredients

2 T
butter
1⁄4 c
confectioners sugar
1⁄2 c
brown sugar
1 t
Vanilla Extract

Nestle's chocolate bars ((or other brand 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate bars))
1 1⁄2 c
Bisquick
1
egg
1⁄4 c
apple sauce
1 t
melted butter
3 T
honey
1⁄4 c
Milk
1 T
cinnamon

medium sized apples (peeled, cored, and diced ½" cubes)
1 T
cinnamon
1 T
melted butter
1⁄4 c
brown sugar

Instructions

Frosting:
Add the first 5 ingredients into saucepan. On low heat, let ingredients melt together stirring occasionally.

Batter:
Mix the bisquick, egg, applesauce, butter, honey, milk and cinnamon in bowl until thoroughly blended (no lumps).

Apple Mixture:
Melt butter in pie pan. Sprinkle cinnamon evenly. Spread diced apples evenly. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly.

Assembly:
Once bottom of the pie pan is covered with the apple mixture, pour the frosting evenly over the apple mixture.

Next, pour the cake batter evenly over everything. Place the pie pan in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 25 - 30 minutes (until toothpick comes out clean).

Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes. Place cake plate over pie pan and flip. Let cool. Serve with whipped topping and powdered sugar.
