Gingerbread House of "Magnolia Dale"

I created Magnolia Dale as part of a Gingerbread Christmas Village of Historical buildings that was recently displayed in the Augusta Museum of History. It placed second in a People's choice vote. Although I have been decorating cakes for years, this was my first gingerbread house and took me about 240 total hours to complete. It is built on a board that is 2' by 3', and is made of gingerbread, royal icing, fondant, gumpaste, modeling chocolate, poured sugar, and rice cereal treats. It also has lights that shine in the windows operated by a battery pack. I added an album on my facebook page with pictures of the work in progress. (Cakes by Sheryl Brousseau)

Really???? Wow you don't know what that means to me...It's just a weekend hobby for me. But YOU...now you are a professional. I LOVE your work!

Thank you! I really appreciate your comments but I think I'll just hop right off that pedestal...ha ha! I also started out as a weekend baker doing cakes for friends and family for years, and now have a South Carolina "cottage food" bakery so that I may work out of my home and sell my custom designed cakes to the public. You do awesome work, so just keep it up and don't sell yourself short.
