2015 Graduation Cake

2015 Graduation Cake. Asked to make for a high school grad that's readying to leave for Army Boot Camp, just make something cool I was told. Started with a 10" square cake. Covered in gray fondant and hand painted Camo design with vodka and food color. Handmade all the gum paste pieces Graduation Cap and tassels to match the diploma and bow with his school colors. Boots were made to look like they were worn and ready to put feet in. Dog tags were customized with little sayings. Placed On a 14" square black fondant covered board off center. Finished off the board with muddy boot prints created with a stamp I made from foam. Finished off the board with gray ribbon. Used a suite case for the cake stand to represent all the new travel and adventures awaiting this young man.

This was so fun to make and tie in both the celebration of high school graduation and announcing his future plans for Army service.
