So I tried 3 different ways and the last way works fine. 7 layers(2" deep cake pans) One each 10,9,8,7,6,5,4 cake tins. Cream Cheese icing with Raspberries and pecans in middle of each layer. Colored layers 5 different colors, to make it interesting. Made 120 branch leaves out of green gumpaste dried them upside down on pvc pipes to make them dry curved. Made top Star from Gum paste and different sizes of star cutters put in cups and bowls to make them curve and pressed them together with water to set paste. Afte gum paste leaves dried hard, I made a cut with a cake icer in the side of the cake and pushed in the leaves....at different staggered levels. When leaves were all inserted I painted them with green food coloring and sprinkled them with yellow and white sparkling sugar...I took step by step photos for my niece in Omaha to be able to do the cake. Cake: Red Velvet Frosting: Cream Cheese Sift first 6 ingredients, set aside |
